Instructional ScreencastThis video is my favorite project that I completed this semester. It really embodies who I am as an artist on the Eastern Shore and also how I like to use technology to teach. To create this project, I combined Screencast-O-Matic, iMovie, and Pixlr. Using Screencast-O-Matic was so easy, I have already used it several times for projects I completed in other classes. I will be using this as a tool in my own classroom to do demonstrations for students.

Interactive Learning Object
I have used PowerPoint presentations for years. I never imagined I could use PowerPoint to create such a dynamic and interactive lesson. I created this non-linear presentation to introduce the artist Alexis Rockman to my art students. After discovering new tricks, I used this LTLE project as inspiration for an interactive guide visitors can use in the Lisanby Gallery (at JMU) during the "Rembrandt and the Mennonites" art show in January. I am also using both of these projects in my own masters thesis to develop a methodology for art teachers to introduce museum experiences in their classrooms. I am very pleased with all of the projects I have created, but this one really started a great chain of events for me.
The file was so large, I saved it in movie format to share.

Educational Poster
This poster, completed using the Pixlr program, is an educational poster meant for a classroom teacher. The recurring theme of water and sky show up in many of my projects due to my homesickness for the Shore. I am particularly proud of this poster because it was my first time ever using the Pixlr program and after creating this, I immediately had millions of ideas running through my head about what else I could create. Find more of my Pixlr creations under the Personal Artifacts button at the bottom of the page.
Support Handout
Usually, I am the person reading the technological support handouts. This instructional support document was my first attempt at taking screenshots, creating an technological support page, and thinking critically about how to explain an in depth process step by step. I am very proud of it after completing revisions. I now feel confident that I could make an effective instructional handout for anything.

Instructional Podcast
This podcast represents my attempt to bring a fun and unique voice to educational technology. The unexpected theme speaks to my quirky style of teaching. After learning how to put one together, I will not doubt create more podcasts to use as part of my art curriculum- it was really fun to make. I have also included my script below.

Mozilla Movie
Creating this short video using Popcorn Maker was a new and exciting experience. I love the combination of video, maps, and popup text that combines to create a unique and educational clip. I will definitely be using this program again for my own art lessons. This one I created is meant to go along with the project I created for the Lisanby Gallery as part of the Madison Collection on the JMU campus.

Dreamweaver Page
Dreamweaver was not an easy program to learn. I don't know if I would use it to create my own website because of the large amount of actual programing needed. I followed a very specific tutorial to create this simple site. I learned how the program worked, but do not have any desire to work in it again. I had to use a friend's computer to complete the assignment because my operating system was too old to support Creative Cloud Dreamweaver.
Letter Forms
This was my first time ever using PowerPoint for this type of project. After creating the large letters in Powerpoint, I was able to upload them as images into PIxlr and then arrange them there. I had never thought about letters as objects and playing with the negative and positive space between the lines. I enjoyed playing around with this notion of space and absence of space as well as seeing the letter "B" as an object that takes up space. This was a fun exercise and really got me thinking about the possibilities of using letter forms.

Animated GIF
I created this animated GIF to use in my art classroom. It could be used as an anticipatory set for an art lesson. It was so easy I could even have my art students make their own.

Child Art Timeline
This timeline I created on Dipity goes through the last two centuries on how child art has been viewed and defined.
Influential People in Art Education
Studying for my comprehensive exams, I decided to create a new timeline on Capzles Social Storytelling that will help me connect faces to ideas.
